Bravo Channel National Arts Education Award:
The Delta Blues Education Fund

On Wednesday, March 15, 2000, Bravo Channel will make a $5000 Award to
the Delta Blues Education Fund at Mr. Johnnie's classroom in Lambert,
Mississippi.

On March 15th, 2000, the award presentation will be from 6-8pm, with
performances by Mr. Johnnie's students and graduates, and complimentary
southern soul food. Mr. Johnnie's classroom is located at 717 Darby
Street, in downtown Lambert.

Bravo received more than 650 applications for its 2000 National Arts
Education Awards. The Delta Blues Education Fund was one of four
winning organizations, along with the Chicago Children's Choir, the Boys
and Girls Club (Easton, PA), and the Keshet Dance Program (Albuquerque,
NM).

"Bravo believes arts should be accessible to all. These groups and
individuals have successfully battled to ensure that children in their
communities have an opportunity to participate in and exposure to the
arts, commented Kathleen Dore, President, Bravo Networks. "Their effort
and commitment make it possible for children to further develop
emotionally and intellectually through involvement in the arts." An
independent panel of judges selected the recipients.
